User Group Support

User groups are a valuable resource to all members of the COE community. The ability to network with your peers, interact with Dassault Systemes, and our partners helps your company become more productive.

These groups also share experiences and technical presentations that can help provide you and your company with valuable, real-world experiences, techniques, and methodologies.

Take the time to find your local user group or if there is not one in your area, look into starting your own. We also hold an annual CRC Summit meeting at the COE Annual Conferene & TechniFair attended by users from around the world.

The COE RUG Community enjoys the full support of Dassault Systemes Corporation. Dassault Systemes Corporation supports user-run groups in various ways in order to increase participation as well as offer support for user group leaders.

Resources:

CRC can provide the following to user groups:

  • Post your meeting date, time and location to the User Group calendar.
  • Post your meeting contact information to the CRC User Group directory.
  • Supply a limited amount of give-away items.*
  • Dassault Systemes speakers when available.**
  • Use of the COE RUG Community logo.

*A minimum of 3 weeks notice is required to provide giveaway items. Based on availability.

**4-5 weeks notice is required to arrange Dassault Systemes speakers.

Getting Started

The user group "Starter Kit" was developed by the CRC leaders to make it easier to start a local user group. With the help of current and past user group leaders, this document has evolved from a collection of documents into one single resource. If you are considering starting a local user group, download and read the "Starter Kit" document first.

Getting Help

Contact the CRC leader for assistance with your first meeting. The CRC committee is comprised of current and former user group leaders, and each committee member is familiar with how important that first meeting is.

Your First Meeting

Your first user group meeting is very important, and will help set the direction of your group. Define an agenda that will be engaging to your attendees, but leave some time to discuss among your members what you hope to accomplish long term with your user group. Meeting frequency, meeting times, and meeting locations are all important subjects that should be addressed.

User Group Policies

The COE RUG Community strongly encourages users of Dassault Systemes software and Dassault Systemes partner applications to convene as a group. This group should create a value added environment where companies can leverage knowledge and as a group address challenges and share successes. Open communication between the group members and Dassault Systemes is strongly encouraged.

What is a COE Regional User Group?

  • 5 or more user participants within a company or from various local DS customers
  • A designated chairperson and/or committee
  • Regularly held meetings, bi-annual at minimum.
  • Must be willing to share information and participate in CRC programs that will be beneficial to your user group.

COE cannot make available general user lists outright to a new user group. An individual or organization with a set plan and agenda for meetings must initiate new user groups. COE will notify users in your area if requested.

COE Regional User Group Community Logo

COE has created a CRC logo that you can use on your group website, letterhead, or your group marketing literature. Use of the CRC logo is contingent on meeting and continuing to meet the criteria as stated above. New user groups will be issued a "kit" containing a logo file, certificate of recognition and other organizational items after your second group meeting. If you are the leader of an existing group, and have not been issued your kit, please contact us at coeRUGs@coe.org

Reimbursements

Contact your local DS representative for support with receiving financial assistance for your meeting. Allowable expenses include meeting room(s), rental of audio/visual equipment (computer, video projector, etc.), and food. DS representatives do NOT reimburse expenses for speakers or technical presenters, web site hosting, or other items not directly related to meeting expenses.
